1958-1963   Volksschule in Eberstalzell

1963-1971   Gymnasium and Matura at "Humanistisches Gymnasium" of Schlierbach Abbey (including Latin and ancient Greek)

1971-1975   Student at the Johannes Kepler Universität Linz, Law School

1976     Doctor of Law

1976-1977   Rechtspraktikant and Richteramtsanwärter at the District Court, Circuit Court and the Office of the District Attorney in Linz

1977     assistant professor

1987     associate professor of law (Universitätsdozent) at the Johannes Kepler Universität Linz

1987     Habilitation with the book "Das Pfandrecht in der Exekution"

1989     Walther-Kastner Prize from the Union of Austrian Banking Corporations

1997     Außerordentlicher Universitätsprofessor

2005     Head of the Institute of European and Austrian Civil Procedure
